Setting up a new profile
Home tab: SimpleDeploy will start with a default blank profile. From the home tab, you can begin by selecting a local folder to search. Just click the "Select Folder" button and browse to your website folder. Click OK on the dialog box once you have selected the folder. Next type in the remote root folder. This is the folder that contains your website.

Server Settings tab: This tab contains your FTP login information. Starting at the top text box, type in your server address, then in the next textbox your user name, and lastly the password.

Filter tab: This is where you setup exclusion filters. Folders and filters entered in here will be skipped during searches. Any folders or file types that you don't want searched can be entered in here. It is not necessary to enter anything into this tab if you do not need filters. Filters greatly decrease the amount of time spent searching for files and also cut out noise (files and folders that you are't concerned about). To get started, type in a file extension in in the "File Extensions" section. The file should start with a dot. For example, ".html" (the quotes aren't needed). Next hit the enter key or click the add button. You will see file extensions accumulating in the right side box. In the "Exclude Folders" area, click the "Select Folder" button and select a folder to exclude. If you need to exclude more folders, just keep selecting addtional folders. You will see them accumulating in the larger box.
Filtering by date
There are two ways to filter by date - since the last update or by a specific date. Filtering by last update will get only files that have changed since your last deployment. This is useful if you are making minor updates in succession. If you need a wider filter, you can select a date by clicking the since date drop down. Files since 12:00 AM of the selected date will be included.
Switching between existing profiles
To switch between profiles, click SimpleDeploy's start button, located in the upper left corner, and select an existing profile. If you'd like to make the profile a default, so that it opens next time SimpleDeploy starts, click "Set As Default" from the start button.
Saving filter and profile changes
If you'd like to save any changes made to a profile, whether it be server settings or filters, it is necessary to tell SipmleDeploy to commit these changes. You can save changes by clicking the save button from the Home or Filter tabs.
